About the Image(s)
I’ve been capturing a series of images trying to "shoot troughâ leaves, grasses, etc. at a ground up level. It’s difficult and frustrating at times but sometimes it pays off. This is really an exercise in cropping as you can see from the original. The original would have been fine if it weren’t for the large, fuzzy African Daisy in the background, so I punted and cropped! Shot with a 90 mm macro lens on a Sony full frame.

Rich, I Love your creating the shoot trough above. I Love the violet and green combinations on the main flower and the bright portion of the main flower . If it were mine and I had the flowers growing in NH, I know not reasonable, and this wasn't for a PSA Nature combination, I'd use the remove tool to take the small bright violet and make it darker or whatever Ai comes up with. I also would make the top corners darker by toning darker or removing. And use the remove tool to get rid of the white areas in your original. Great seeing when you are able to get this kind of results when shooting trough.   Posted: 04/13/2025 16:44:26
It's a pretty little flower & I like the white light in the flower which actually takes my eye off the white in the background. I'm a little bothered by the flowers on the right side even though they are blurred out. I gave it a try of cropping them out and adding a stroke to the image. I noticed that on the gray background of the comments I should have chosen a different stroke color or a bigger stroke.   Posted: 04/14/2025 17:35:32
Hi Rich. Your shooting through exercise has created a very dreamy feeling and I like it a lot. I love the purple against the green and the way the light is hitting the main subject . I appreciate your composition and the blurry flowers on the right add to the environment. Rather than cropping them out, it might be beneficial to just reduce their vibrance so they don't grab so much attention.   Posted: 04/17/2025 01:17:16
Hi Rich, what patience you must have to shoot through leaves like that and what reward for your efforts. What a dreamy and creative output. The light in the center of the flower sets if off as does the purple colour against the leaves.
I do agree with Ingrid that reducing or darkening the background to reduce the distraction would set the flower off really well. Well done.   Posted: 04/20/2025 11:06:58
