About the Image(s)
Orchid Blur was shot in Chicago at the Garfield Park Conservatory. I used the Radial Blur filter to achieve the blur effect.

Marti, I agree with your choice of editing on this image. It cleans up the background and isolates the subject while going a hint there are more blossoms. Sometimes, depending on the color of the other blossoms, I allow some opacity to bring out details.   Posted: 03/09/2025 12:35:07
Marti, interesting take on the orchid. Colors are awesome and I agree with Bob that the separation it creates works well. I do think if you added a touch of luminosity to the main subject it would pop even more by livening up the color are providing more separation. Very nice.   Posted: 03/10/2025 11:45:50
Good use of radial blur. Yes, the center does need brightening up. I would also crop in from the left. I think this image would look good centered.   Posted: 03/16/2025 20:34:57
Really nice way of showcasing the orchid, blurring the out of focus ones and making one the center piece. The colour pallet is a bit even and could do with a tonal contrast as well as brightening the center part of the flower. Otherwise, a really nice representation of the orchid. Like it.   Posted: 03/17/2025 05:00:48
Hi Marti. The radial blur you have used has done a great job of emphasizing the main orchid and separating it from the background. The only suggestion I have is to brighten and add some vibrance to the orchid to separate it even more from the background. A square crop might also be something to try.   Posted: 03/19/2025 01:31:32
Hi Marti,
Greetings my friend.
A lovely image this edition. The use of radial blur created an unique perception. In the process, I think the light and color is complementing each other.
Thank you for sharing.
Cheers.
