About the Image(s)
These were planted mid summer and therefore got a late start. I know those to the left were a little too too far out but they have potential. My camera info ISO 800, m190mm and F11. Probably no tripod on these. Just basic LrC editing. I'll revisit them in a few days.

Marti, that's a great creative image. Yes, I like polar coordinates but depending on how tired I am I flub up the flip so you don't get the line at 12 o'clock. :-(
Great job.   Posted: 03/11/2025 16:43:28

Maybe make an action? It's a lot easier to check and see whether a warp is the way to go before deleting an image.   Posted: 03/11/2025 16:59:23
Bob, this is the time of year that we flower specialists go nuts! Love the background separation on this one. The flowers are interesting enough, but I'm not nuts about the composition. I'd actually think it would work better in portrait mode and see the plant right from the ground level. Other than that, very nice.   Posted: 03/10/2025 11:41:39
Thanks Rich. Yes, that was needed but if I went vertical it would show very little grass as the lawn had been planted under 2 weeks before. Composition was dictated by a newly planted plant. It will be better. Thanks   Posted: 03/11/2025 17:31:07
I was trying to edit the flowers in this original image just wondering if I could clean up the bushy images in the front by using the LrC remove tool and perhaps reveal the images in the back. As you probably have discovered the Ai remove tool does a pretty good job and in this case a very good job. I used the standard tool with the "Add mask" selectected. In fact I believe I use it that way 95% of the time. Ai obviously knows there is a nice flower behind otherwise I wouldn't remove the front one. I think is pretty cool.   Posted: 03/15/2025 20:58:57
Hi Bob, I think I prefer your initial image. I don't mind the composition, I find it quite pleasing with the center flower taller surrounded by shorter ones. I always find it hard to photograph magenta coloured flowers.
Not so sure about your edited version. It appears that you have added extra petals on the two flowers in the foreground leaving the background ones in focus. Was that your intention? I find that my eyes tend to look at the out of focus and wanting to find the ones in focus. I do like how you've darken the background and toned down the bright magenta colour.   Posted: 03/17/2025 04:51:21

Nadia, the second original with dark bushy flowers was (as I mentioned above) really the original and using the remove tool in LrC the Ai cleaned up so well that it removed the extra pedals and bushy part of the flowers to make the original at the top of the page. My intention was to show that using Remove the Ai gives you many more options than previously.   Posted: 03/17/2025 11:43:40
Sorry Bob, I misunderstood. In viewing your posted image closer I can now see that the flowers are identical, so that explains the power of the remove tool. I don't use LrC and glad to see that the remove tool is in that program. For me all is done in PS. Cheers   Posted: 03/18/2025 03:59:18
Thanks Nadia. The Photoshop remove tool works, I think, a little better than Lightroom tool. I tried to duplicate this edit a few nights ago and I couldn't but then again it depends on the dia. of the remove tool and where you start. So that is Adobe's secret.   Posted: 03/26/2025 21:27:32
In the original composition, the flowers are nice, but the composition too difuse. Also, I think the green is too bright. With the help of Vivasa, what do you think of this?   Posted: 03/17/2025 11:25:25
Thanks Doug, great to get you comments. My composition while maybe diffuse, but I don't agree, it doesn't suffer from having multiple flowers going out of the frame in your version. I do agree with your color green and mine could be toned down.   Posted: 03/17/2025 11:49:36
Hi Bob. I love the contrast of the magenta flowers against the well-blurred green background. You have done a good job of having the flowers in focus. It's unfortunate that the right top flower is going off of the edge of the frame. If it were mine, I would add to the canvas on the right to equal the distance on the left. Another option would be to crop out the two flowers on the left as well as the bud in the middle, and make the composition be just the three flowers on the left.   Posted: 03/19/2025 01:24:10
Thanks Ingrid. I had previously added to the canvas in LrC. I think I prefer the 5 flowers plus the bud. Thank you for your suggestions.   Posted: 03/19/2025 15:00:56
Hi Bob,
Greetings my friend.
A wonderful composition of the flowers (Red BeeBalm) with an appropriate blurry background, you presented in this edition. The composition is simple and less dramatic for a frame. But I like the simplicity, but probably on the right edge a part of the flower got crossed. If the Left and right side could be processed with a symmetry would be great. Just a thought. Nice sharing. Thanks again.
Cheers.
