About the Image(s)

I shoot this lily through my kitchen window on a rainy day. I particularly liked the raindrops on the petals and the washed out look. Canon 7D, 100-400mm lens; 1/350sec, f5.6, ISO 800. Camera raw adjustments. In Photoshop, removed background, placed some textures in the background, used PS neural filters to give a haze look, some contrast and finished with Topaz Studio 2 soft filter.

Yes, that is beautiful! The drops really set it apart. It has a certain dramatic quality. I wouldn't change a thing. Nice!   Posted: 11/10/2024 22:18:19

Thank you very much for sharing the image and edits made. I can't say that I like the pollen mess that the White Asian Lilly presented you. Buts that's nature. You made the best of it with a beautiful background and water drops.   Posted: 11/11/2024 01:20:17

The main flower is beautiful with the water drops - nice job there. I feel this would have been better as a single flower - especially since the other flower is not in focus, has distracting elements and also creates a back and forth conflict for me.   Posted: 11/11/2024 03:20:58

Hi Nadia,
Greetings my friend.
You have done a wonderful job. I love the way you have treated the flower with the background. The water droplets are amazing on the flowers. I respectfully disagree with Marti here, I believe instead of only 1, 2 sets of flowers really make the composition, as it's 2 subject which can bring the sense of balance in any composition, even though the other flower is blurry. It definitely gives the DoF for the entire image and gave a great inner story.
Thank you for sharing.
Cheers.
