About the Image(s)
Unfortunately, I did not keep records of my edits. Ps and or Topaz Studio using Zoom and Blur filters. I also used Lightroom point colors to lighten up the colors in the center and Opacity @ 70%. ISO 800, 300mm, F9, 1/800sec,HandHeld,

Hi Bob, I do like the composition cropping you did on this and the colors are gorgeous. I think it's a bit underexposed and, more importantly, I know the borders are suppose to be out of focus but on my monitor the center is also quite soft. Perhaps using a structure or detail tool would help? As a viewer I want something to focus on and then let it melt to the sides.   Posted: 11/10/2024 22:12:08

Thank you Rich for your comments. I am trying to show everyone that I can do muted colors and soft images. But No, Your first comments destroy my Artistic Softie approach. Maybe others will have a different comment.   Posted: 11/10/2024 23:59:55

I rather like the original. However, for a "softie" approach I like what you've done. I feel it could use a stroke around the edges to contain the image and I agree with Rich that perhaps the center could use a little more detail. Overall it's a nice softie.   Posted: 11/11/2024 03:16:15

Hi Bob. What a beautiful dahlia. The original is in perfect focus and a just a square crop of the original would also be a beautiful image. Your use of blur definitely brings the viewers attention to the center, and creates a beautiful effect. For my personal taste, I would probably lessen the blur in the very center, though.   Posted: 11/19/2024 18:37:20

Hi Bob,
Greetings my friend.
An amazing capture and creative post processing. Nicely created and presented. Like rich mentioned, the center part could be little more sharp to get a better perception. Its a bit more soft I believe. Overall a nice job and different type of creative perception. Thank you for sharing.
Cheers.

Hi Bob, I too like the original especially how the lovely light glow comes through the petals making the yellow part of the flower stand out.
I also like your "softie" interpretation and my only comment is that the original glow has been subdued. So you may want to consider bringing that light just into the center of the flower so that it becomes the focal point of interest. I've done an example, still keeping it all soft as in your original.   Posted: 11/22/2024 10:15:46
