The original image was shot at 1/30th of a second. I added a 10 stop ND filter and shot the final image at 30 seconds. Since the birds moved around and got blurry in the long exposure I used the 1/30th of a second exposure to replace blurry birds with birds in focus. I didn’t like the composition so I cut out the smaller tower, moved it to the left to create a better composition and used Photoshop to blend it. I also took out the beach on the far side of the harbor and smoothed out the horizon using Photoshop, to create more of a fine art look.

Bruce, I like the B&W much better and also the blurred lines around the horizon in it. It is a very calming image to look at.   Posted: 10/08/2026 01:01:54

Very serene image Bruce. The smooth water and sky contrast nicely with the static towers. The conversion to B & W was a good choice in my opinion. Lovely image.   Posted: 10/08/2026 14:45:37

Really nice image Bruce. I like the blurred background in contrast to the towers. I think cropping a bit more off the bottom might work well to accentuate the beautiful contrasts in the water closer to the horizon. Ramping up the contrast of the background a tad might work too. Very well processed.   Posted: 10/10/2026 21:03:15
