I was visiting a garden near me on a gray, muggy morning and came across this beautiful, little Emerald Moth. I was the only one around and it was quiet and peaceful, so I wanted my image to have a peaceful, soft feel.
In Lightroom CC I cropped in to better frame the moth, increased the overall exposure, and removed some distractions in the background.
In Topaz Studio II I played with some filters to add more overall softness and light without losing detail on the flower petals and moth. I also added a light brown kind of hazy vignette around the edges.
I think I'm happy with the background, but wondered if I should clone a little of the yellow on the right bottom over to the left.
I look forward to your feedback.

You've applied a perfect crop Denise. I love the colors and angled lines of the moth and stem. The simple shapes of the petals in contrast to the details of the moth create a beautiful dichotomy. I don't think you need to add any yellow to the right bottom background. It might distract from the lovely petals. You did indeed create a soft and peaceful piece of fine art.   Posted: 07/12/2026 20:57:59

This is a lovely image, Denise - I like your processing treatment. I don't feel it needs more yellow on the left, the colours are beautifully balanced as is. Definitely one to print!   Posted: 07/13/2026 23:15:11
