About the Image(s)
Just a simple looking-up architectural shot taken on a walk of our downtown area. First, I had to crop a bit and straighten the angles to make it symmetrical. I added
the airplane overhead and tried to think of something to make it unique from others I’ve seen online. The seagull looking down at me from a rooftop seemed to fill the
bill. I removed the flag holders from the building as they seemed to distract from the simplicity of the lines. I adjusted the contrast and finally used PS filters Diffusion
and Sandstone texture.

The addition of the plane and the pigeon make this more than a straight architectural shot. The flag folders are distracting; you were right to remove them. You must have done some work on the sky as well, because I can see the sun rays just a little bit better. Anymore emphasis than what you did would have made the rays look false.   Posted: 04/15/2025 23:09:53
What clever edits to change this from a simple architectural shot to something with more interest. I feel like the proportions of your added elements seem appropriate and fit in well. I also like that you have two "flying" elements in the image; one man made and one made by nature, LOL.

Thanks Georgianne. Good point about moving the seagull in a bit. The rays from the sun were from the original shot (no light leak filter). The Diffusion filter I used in post processing made them a little brighter and more contrasted with the sky.   Posted: 04/19/2025 23:23:47
I like the added elements of the bird and plane they give further interest to the image. I feel that the image would suit conversion to mono and you could have fun darkening and lightening selected areas. I had a quick play, darkening down the sky and using a couple of gradient filters on parts of the building.   Posted: 04/21/2025 10:13:19
