This is an image of an old barn in a former slave village in South Carolina. Magic occurred to produce the final product, and I forgot to tag it! So, I’ve tried to recreate it, but didn’t quite get the size, shading and perspective correct.
1. Applied a B/W adjustment layer. But I wanted to bring back a little color in the barn. So
2. I applied a solid color adjustment layer in a red t one. I made this an Overlay blender at 9% opacity.
3. I applied a mask to the solid color layer and masked out everything but the barn.
4. Merged up. Seen in Original 2.
5. I applied a Topaz Textures 1950s print preset and played with all of the settings to get just what I wanted. The layer uses the Lighten blend mode.
6. Applied Topaz Impressions Van Gogh I.
7. To give the canvas some texture, I used Filter > Filter Gallery > Texturizer > Canvas.
8. I wanted to bring out more of the interior, so I added an exposure adjustment layer and added a mask to it, turning the mask to black and painting white over the window area.
9. This is where my memory and lack of documentation has failed me. I do not remember how I got to this final step. But I’m pretty sure of the last steps, just not of the tweeking inside of the Topaz options.

I like everything you've done with this image Georgi. It reminds me of looking at an old postcard of a snowy, winter scene.   Posted: 11/16/2024 14:38:58

This is a perfect image for this time of year. Your treatments are all great. I like the windows being enhanced so they aren't just black holes. I did think to myself as I looked at it for the first time that the snow seems more yellow than white; and you know what they say about yellow snow. ;) Not a criticism. Just a chuckle.   Posted: 11/23/2024 15:14:04

Hum, I don't see yelloish snow. White can be affected by many things. Nevertheless, I really enjoyed this chuckle! Thans for your comment~   Posted: 11/24/2024 18:46:06

I really like how you have turned this image into a moody winter scene, very well executed.   Posted: 11/30/2024 10:40:35
