About the Image(s)
During early September, my wife and I spent a week on holiday in Suffolk in the south-east of England. There are areas of heathland in Suffolk, but unfortunately some of them were badly damaged by fires during the summer. This patch of heath was OK, but the stunning orange of the setting sun made me think of those fires. By using a fairly long focal length, I could place the trees against the brightest patch of orange, which in reality did not stretch across much of the sky.
This is an HDR image with 3 images taken at 'correct' + 1.5 stops over/under exposed then combined in Lightroom. Foreground lightened in Photoshop by using an Overlay blend mode which lifts the highlights, giving the impression of a little light on the heather. I also added the path for a lead-in (well why not?).
Canon R5 + 24-105 F4L lens at 105mm, ISO250, F7.1, 1/500s (plus 1/1250 and 1/250). Hand held, hence the short shutter speeds.
