This image was taken at a Napa Valley Vineyard in California. Many vineyards in the Napa Valley have added nice features to their property that enhance the visitor’s stay at the winery.
This section of the winery has an oriental feel to it with the red walking bridge, a small pagoda (not seen) and pond…a nice place to linger and sip wine. I tried to enhance the image by giving a nice soft blur and a painterly look…well maybe more like a watercolor look. All I needed was a white swan to appear in the image but that didn’t happen.

You have produced a very peaceful final image Henriette. The way you have brightened the greens and the red bridge works very well with the painterly effect. This could look quite nice printed large and hung on a wall in a professional's waiting room. Posted: 07/07/2026 11:08:46
Thank you Ian for your nice comments. Scenes that provide simplicity, serenity (sense of calmness) and a place where the soul of one's being is at peace is something that I try to achieve in my photography but not always successful but I do try. On this particular day, the lighting was soft and beautiful and the waters calm. It was in the post processing that I was able to bring out what I felt when I took the image.
