Image taken in doorway in Oaxaca, Mexico. What attracted me to this scene were the shadows, light and shape of the doorway light fixture. At first it seemed like an easy image to process but, for me, it turned out to be a challenge to even out the shadows and lights both on the left and the far right on the other side of the fixture. I thought to myself what can I make the picture a little more interesting and it took me awhile to figure it out. Inside the light fixture I added another image of a painted mural that I had done an ICM (intentional cameral movement) on. I like the colorful diagonal lines within the light fixture though I must admit I didn’t notice the connection at first between the diagonals of the shadows and the diagonal lines in the light fixture colors.

Henriette, the addition of colour really makes the difference here, and even if you did not notice a connection in the diagonals at first, it probably 'looked right' at the time without having to think about it. A nice simple graphical image that would not be out of place in some up-market modern apartment.   Posted: 11/19/2025 16:02:36

Great photograph Henriette. It is like a modern art abstract painting. The colors in the fixture and the textures in the walls are outstanding. I had no idea what it was a picture of until I read your description, but instantly liked it, Good work.   Posted: 11/22/2025 19:14:56
