When this image came through to me, there was no commentary about it, so I will comment on this image as I see it. It will be a good exercise for the others in the group as well. The story for me in this one is the diversity of trees in the environment, their differences is species, size, shape, colour and texture, particularly in autumn. Well composed, although I'm not sure if the partial green tree in the background right adds any positive purpose. Use of light, together with a neutral overcast sky as a background is effective.   Posted: 04/18/2025 23:42:30
Explanation: The first e-mail that didn't go through had an explanation of the image but when I created a new e-mail later I forgot to include information about the image. This image was taken in Southwestern Colorado in the fall season with my Canon EOS 7D Mark II. Thank you for your comments Ian. I didn't notice the green tree on the right but agree with you that it is distracting. If I had noticed the green tree on the right I would have taken it out.   Posted: 04/19/2025 18:11:44
Some spectacular autumn colours here, which are well set off by the dark sky which adds a complementary blue tone. I agree with Ian that the green tree on the edge could come out (that's what chain saws are for!) which would leave the dark green group as an island surrounded by yellow. I would suggest a slight skew to the image so that the strong verticals of the dark green trees are closer to vertical - they are probably growing at an angle, but I think a small adjustment would improve the image. Well done on 'finding' the picture in the forest.   Posted: 04/21/2025 09:02:32
