About the Image(s)
The Cactus Spine original was taken in a nursery with my Nikon snapshot camera, which did not have many adjustments. ISO was 125. But the shape of the spines interested me, so mono was the only way to bring out the points and textures. Most of the manipulation was in contrast and sharpening to make the texture look like scabs on the surface. This will in my office - just love the result.

Melissa, very mysterious capture. I like what Ed did to bring out those spines and structure to seperate tonally and physically. I would not flip it as I think Ed did because your original had a nice diagonal tension. In fact I would try rotating it to the right to have more diagonal lines.   Posted: 02/19/2025 22:43:38
