About the Image(s)
I think that this subject works well in high key.
I have some thoughts about this photo and will happy to discuss in the coming weeks.
What are your honest views?

A High Key minimalist image. I think i would crop it on the left perhaps a third of the way in, and then adjust the toning by masking in LR to make the lighthouse stand out a bit better. A difficult image to analyze but good food for thought. Would be interested in other ideas.   Posted: 02/17/2025 18:17:38
Hi Mark,
Thank you for sharing.
This is interesting. I think I understand what you are trying to do.
Since nothing can be seen except the pier, it looks like the pier is floating in the air.
So it gives me an impression of "unreality" rather than landscape image.
Selection of 16x9 format is a good selection but I feel the pier is a bit too long.
Nice try!

Hi Mark - you want an honest opinion. Mine is - WOW. This thing has so much impact, it is remarkable. For me it is the starkness, but also the "narrowness" of the subject. If it were mine I would crop off the top 1/4 of the blank white, to put the subject more in toward the center to really accentuate its power. Wish this were mine!   Posted: 02/19/2025 18:54:42
Hey Mark, unique treatment of a strong leading line in a minimalist environment. I agree with Melissa, to crop some off the left and you still have a strong line and remove some of the white space on top of the image. Ask your self how much negative space do I need to support your scene?   Posted: 02/19/2025 22:54:52
