About the Image(s)
One of the many Lighthouses in Iceland, this one was taken from a boat as we were traveling up to Snaefellsnes Peninsula , where we traveled about the isolated countryside, but this lonely little "orange" lighthouse was protecting a very small island that was home for a fishing port.
Taken with Nikon D850 and 200-500 mm lens.
1/1000
Iso 500
f/18
We were a fare distance from the lighthouse and my landscape lens was not available, so I used what I had. Lucily it was a bright clear day and I wanted to isolate the lighthouse and island , is I used what I had (other camera gear was sowed in a locker and we were moving through the area quickly...so I improvised.

However, the impact plateaus quickly because the composition isn't pushing toward drama, mood, or storytelling. It's a pretty shot-but not unforgettable. In my VF I cropped to reduce the amount of uninteresting sky, added both texture and clarity to the sky and tried to get the subject to pop but deepening the color of the lantern roof in an attempt draw the viewer's eye - also, I thought Island Sentinel might be a good title.
