About the Image(s)
This image was taken in the White Sands national monument in New Mexico. Recently, I have been processing images in B&W and then working on the contrast to turn what might not be an interesting image into one that can draw a viewers attention. I've gone through my catalog of older, ignored images to work on them with my more current Lightroom and post skills. So, this was one of those attempts and I would appreciate input on how the image might be improved. Canon EOS 6D MkII, EF70-200 Lens @ 100mm, 1/160th sec, f18, post processing in Lightroom.
Thanks,

Gary - striking - and very nice - One can always find something that "they" would want to change or tweak on an image, the question as to thoughts on how to improve - switch to Nikon! Seriously now, I enjoy panoramas and think this would be stunning as a 15x30 metal print - not high gloss but a light stain finish or even larger. Very nice.   Posted: 11/12/2025 20:56:08
Gary...oh what a great eye!! I've seen several images from this area....but none with the impact this one has on me. I do think you wee smart to go BNW... I think it adds to the mood ! Just a special image!!!!   Posted: 11/16/2025 21:12:10
Gary, I really enjoyed looking multiple times at this image - and yes B&W makes it. Great composition, nice leading line, the sand dune shapes are very organic against the sharpness of the mts. I kinda like the softness of the dunes as they are. If you don't already, take a look at using Nik Silver Efex for your B&W as the program offers many different templates plus adjustments.
