Sherry, I thought your image was well-done, it was bright and balanced with an airy feel and a great example as an informational or travel context.
That said, I re cropped and in my VF and I added contrast and slight vignette as I thought it more dynamic and visually engaging and more artistic or suitable for competition display where impact and depth matter, giving the city a livelier, more dimensional presence. Your thoughts on my modifications are appreciated

I do like your version of the image, and I have taken almost no Cityscapes, so your thoughts are appreciated. The way you cropped it certainly makes one focus on the buildings instead of the bay. The vignette is almost imperceptible....I notice more the changes in lighting which does make it standout more. Thanks for the suggestions.   Posted: 11/16/2025 20:48:13
Sherry - I want to go there as I know several who have been but not in the city. Are you still lugging around that tank of a camera? As long as mine works, I willl never get rid of it event though I have two mirrorless bodies.
Annnnnnyway - The sky is great and no contrails from jets - the city - lots of red roofs - that is cool and well, I am really not a city scape person - But love the sky.   Posted: 11/12/2025 20:10:21

Thanks Dave, I rarely take City Scapes......so I couldn't critique one fairly if I tried. I so rarely do cityscapes, but this was one I could not walk away without some images. I loved Iceland and would go again in a heartbeat. The people are wonderful and the island's inhabitants are primarily based in Reykjavic. Once you leave the city there are miles and miles uninhabited. The geology there is incredible....Icebergs, caves, volcanos, and waterfalls everywhere. People are genuine and most speak English. I highly recommend. And I have given up on my 850, gone totally mirrorless (just can't part with the 850 camera though). I'm shooting so many birds given I now live in Florida, and the weight finally got to me. I switched to Sony and really love them.   Posted: 11/16/2025 20:42:57
Sherry, you did good and thanks for the image as it reminds me of just how much I enjoyed my trip to Iceland some 9 years ago. Like you I would like to return. I favor what Butch has done as he cropped some of the sky so more focus on the buildings. Everything is crisp and the clouds certainly help. Ray   Posted: 11/17/2025 01:42:04
