About the Image(s)
Taken in 2015 on my first trip to Africa and Tanzania. We were on the lookout for the Migration, but no luck, it is really not guaranteed, much like our Spring migration of birds! But the sunset that first night was magnificent, so from our campsite (glam tents) I tried for the sunset since the colors was so magnificent.
I was using the Nikon D750 with a Nikkor 24-120mm at 48 mm and details are:
1/800
ISO 800
f/7.1
It was initially processed in LRC and I did some additional work, lightening shawdows, on just the lower 2/3 ( mountain and walkway ) and applied denoise (which is much better in 2025 version).

The migration is impossible to predict - two years in a row we were skunked, then two years later we arrived in an off season and saw 10 crossings in 5 days - go figure! This is a lovely image. I sense you're not crazy about me 'messin' with your images but I liked this one so much I couldn't resist - I punched up the sky and the hillside and darkened the mane-made walkway along the bottom of the frame - either way, a terrific shot   Posted: 05/11/2025 21:16:57
