This is a recent image taken on March 19th. Taken at sunrise while at Sydney's northern beach suburb of Mona Vale. I'm currently putting a presentation on Long Exposure Photography for my camera club and am gathering some images to be included in that. For some reason that I don't know, the colours in the image when I attached it to the email, seem off somewhat. It has lost some of the blue in the sky and much of the pink on the left side is gone, but it is what it is. Much better colour on my screen and hopefully the print when it gets done. I hope the image shows movement in the water and clouds to show the long exposure aspect. Some people may say the swimming pool with its light poles, together with the people may be a distraction, but they were there at the time, and to me, show a little bit of life going on here. Details are: Nikon D810; Nikon 24-120 at 24mm, ISO 64; F11; 61 seconds +3 exposure and tripod mounted.

Ian - the colors are striking and lots of luck trying to nail them in an image that really relies on color for its impact - too many things going on with color - what you saw, what your camera captured, what you saw on your screen, what PSA saw and what I see on my screen - no way are you going to nail the colors but kudos for trying. As I said, I feel the strength of the image is in its color and the long exposure is apparent in the clouds but you have moving water next to still water on the puddles on the left and that creates a bit of confusion - lastly, the eye is drawn to the left side of the image and the composition doesn't allow the eye to naturally flow to the right   Posted: 05/07/2025 13:32:01
