About the Image(s)
Golden wheat fields
Description: This photo was taken couple years ago in Palouse, East Washington. It was July, the wheat harvest season. I drove onto a gravel road through golden wheat fields. The wheat fields appear ripe and ready for harvest. The road stretches to the horizon, forming a strong guiding line that leads us to a series of wind turbine. I increased the color contrast of the photo to make the colors of the wheat field and the sky stand out more. and cropped the sky a little. Camera settings are Nikon D850, Nikon 70-300mm, f/8, 70mm, 1/1250 sec, iso-100

What a sterling composition - Peter, in my VF I really wanted to simplify the image to focus on your subject, so I removed the wind turbines because I didn't feel they added to your story "Golden Fields of Wheat" btw, "fields of gold" might also be a good title, but regardless, I softened then cropped down on the sky and very slightly de-saturated the wheat field and replaced with a touch of vibrance   Posted: 03/14/2025 16:32:14
Beautiful image, Peter! It is remarkable how much wheat is visible in this image! The fields must seem like they go on forever....which they probably do. Add to that the road that leads you into it is reality, but your interpretation removes that human "artifact" by using it as a leading line. I like the image a great deal and certainly makes me appreciate the beauty of nature and humankind who requires things like that for life!

Another very strong image Peter. Your composition and use of colours in the scene are made better by your processing. I'm going to respectfully disagree with Butch, I don't mind the wind turbines.   Posted: 03/24/2025 23:27:02
