About the Image(s)
This photo was taken in Hong Kong few years ago. This Monster building is a group of several old apartment buildings connected to each other. There are actually many people living there. Looking up from the middle of the buildings, you would think you were in a well. The camera settings are Nikon D850, Nikon 18-35mm, f/13, 1/320 sec, 18mm, ISO-800

VERY creative Peter; an image I believe would do well in a photo club competition. In my VF I eliminated the puffy cloud so the sky was featureless, straightened the "horizon line" as the image was canted to the right a bit and added contrast and texture to the buildings - while that may sound like a lot, it all began with your shot, as I said, most creative - nice job   Posted: 01/07/2025 21:06:36

WOW! Beyond our comprehension, but Hong Kong has an enormous number of people living in a small land space. What is remarkable is there are 2 different architectural styles presented in this image, one clearly more contemporary than the others. My mind can't quite wrap around how close the living spaces are! The view is unique and the sky really stands out in the mass of apartments! I don't think any thing expands are education than visiting and traveling to other countries. Thanks for sharing!   Posted: 01/15/2025 20:47:07

Fantastic image Peter. It made me also go WOW when I saw it. I also agree that the puffy cloud could be eliminated. I like your creativity in capturing the image and the post processing you've done. I think, because of the image, that you would hang it on your ceiling and not a wall :-). The image appears sharp from the bottom up to the top, so a good decision to use f/13. The various colors stand out and the reflection in the right, upper wall is minimized, so very good work.   Posted: 01/16/2025 22:29:42

Congratulations on another stunning image Peter. When I first saw it, I had a little bit of a head spin, but then there is so much to look at and take in. All the details and colours of the apartments (down here we call them units). I'm going to be a bit of a rebel again, I don't mind that bit of cloud. We are so used to seeing clouds in the sky, that they are fully expected. It doesn't bother me at all. That's the great thing about our craft of photography, we can all look at things differently.   Posted: 01/17/2025 23:49:59
