About the Image(s)

This image was taken in 2018 in the countryside of Annecy, FR. At the base of the French Alps. The castle associated with this area is a common visitor spot, but we did not go into the castle as it was already closed for the season, instead we explored the countryside. I found this area to beautiful and bucolic....so very different than communities in the states. It is like taking a walk into the past of European history .

Taken with Nikon D750 and 24-120 lens at 24mm on tripod

Sherry, this is lovely as shot and as your comments suggest, you captured the feeling or emotion that was important to you. Can't ask for more. When I'm reviewing image in either a study or discussion group I approach the image as if it's been entered into a club competition, so, I cropped, sharpened and added both contrast and a vignette and feel it might score better if entered into a competition - see my VF   Posted: 11/08/2024 14:45:24

Congratulations on a great image Sherry. While I acknowledge Butch's comments and alternate version, I still like the inclusion of the second mountain peak to the left. In my mind, it brings a further feeling of depth to the scene. It would even work well as a pano if you chose to loose up to two thirds of the sky above your main mountain peak. Just for something a little different, in addition to your image.   Posted: 11/25/2024 03:57:34

Hi Sherry, I like the photo and especially the location. It does provide a very different view of the world. As I looked at the photo, I thought it might benefit by a crop on the left that would still include the second mountain and dropping a bit of the sky as well. I would also try to eliminate the distraction of the partial bush on the lower left. I felt that the 3 peaks, especially the middle one, drew my eye up through the image.   Posted: 11/26/2024 21:33:49
