About the Image(s)
Shot in Saguaro National Park on October 23rd - I’ve had a bad cold for about a month so I haven’t been able to get out to shoot so I was fortunate that the galactic core of the Milky Way and the Atlas Comet were still visible so late in the season - but then I’ve never shot the MW this far south - in any event, I lighted the area with a panel to mimic starlight or the last vestiges of light just before sunset
Canon R5 - Can 15-35mm @15mm - ISO 400 - f2.8 - 15 second exposure.

Saguaro Nation Park is a very popular spot for photographers, I ve been there many years ago, and while very beautiful, I was always partial to the red rocks of Sedona so when went to AZ we headed north.
I had never considered the impact of capturing the Milky Way.....so thanks for the idea! This is quite stunning and with minimal light polution your stars show up nicely.I like your crop, it removes that small mound and still have the entirety of the Milky Way.

I appreciate seeing the original image and then the "after post" image. The saguaro's are well lite and the Milky Way in the sky is beautiful. The comet drew my eye immediately and allowed me to then take in the entire sky. The deepening of the sky and colors really made the sky pop. Very nice image and post processing.   Posted: 11/26/2024 21:37:13
