Sun Point @ Glacier National Park by John Zhu

July 2024 - Sun Point @ Glacier National Park

About the Image(s)

Last week at Glacier NP. Taken with Z7 II and Z lens 24-70mm f2.8. Setting at f8, ISO 200, 40mm with Aperture priority. Both LR and PS were used as my normal flow. I was planning to shoot the sunset, waited one hour plus and no sunset sky. Bumped into two wedding groups. It is a great place to embrace nature.

Excellent composition. I'd remove the photographer and orange bag at the foot of the groom. If possible, and this would be with very careful editing, I'd remove the tree branch that is behind the couple and which basically sticks up the behind of the groom. The white wedding dress is quite lovely in the backlit sunlight. I think this was your lucky day to find them against such a beautiful setting.   Posted: 07/09/2024 00:14:23

Gorgeous image John. It almost takes your breath away! Do agree with Mike about the photographer and the branches. Gave it a try. What do you think?   Posted: 07/09/2024 00:39:49

A wonderful nature scenery John and you have captured it well. While I agree the branch behind the couple is creating some "distraction", I honestly think the photographer added to the story. But this is just my 2 cents opinion.

best wishes

I like to include the photographer. It's a complete story and a good memory. Thanks.   Posted: 07/25/2024 17:51:44

Lovely wedding record shot in a great location. I don't mind the bag and the photographer - it was all there on the day. You could do that as a second shot for the collection if you wanted. I darkened the foreground to focus attention on the bride (not that it needed it but I liked the effect) and also gave 2 - 5% brightness on the central part of lighter grasses and the two highlights leading off to the left just for effect. Well shot.   Posted: 07/26/2024 11:00:34
