Autumn River by Spring Zhang

October 2026 - Autumn River

About the Image(s)

Just came back from a Mongolia and Inner Mongolia (China) trip. This trip is mainly to capture the autumn scene. Inner Mongolia in September is especially popular for autumn scene viewing among Chinese people.

It was a rainy day, shot at ISO 100, f16 and 0.3 seconds, very minimal post-processing with just a crop and a tad of saturation.

Spring, this is an interesting image. I know it was a rainy, overcast day, but I felt the original looked a little flat. I adjusted the contrast, shadows, and black point to give it a bit more depth. I understand if you don't like the edit, though, since it does take away some of the soft, overcast feel of the rainy day.   Posted: 10/04/2026 13:36:52

This is a very pretty image and excellent composition. I agree with Tom that it needed a little extra "punch". I think he did a fine job of bringing your image even more to life.   Posted: 10/05/2026 13:20:27
