Vulture at Sunset by Spring Zhang

April 2026 - Vulture at Sunset

About the Image(s)

This photo was taken during my recent trip to Tanzania. The silhouette of a vulture perched on a bare tree in splendid sunset had a poetic feel.

I love this image. You did an exceptionally good job of getting the perfect exposure to backlight the tree and bird. The bright sun in the background reminds me of the movie "Out of Africa." Well done.

Good shot. What if remove the bottom left & right tree trunk?

Outstanding image Spring. Great visual impact and interest. Only edit I would make is to trim or remove the lower left branch that is cut off by the frame.   Posted: 04/08/2026 13:10:24

Thank you all for your kind comments. Yes, good suggestion on removing the tree trunks at the bottom of the frame.   Posted: 04/08/2026 14:51:25

This is a striking silhouette of the vulture on the bare tree top, amid a high-contrast orange sunset which creates a moody atmosphere and gives off a foreboding narrative. In this particular image, the center placement works well with the symmetry of the branches and the vulture at the top helps anchor the image. I also agree with the rest on removing the distractions on the bottom the frame. Superb picture.   Posted: 04/16/2026 00:20:51
