Whooping Cranes by Mike Patterson

March 2025 - Whooping Cranes

About the Image(s)

I captured this image of a pair of rare Whooping Cranes along the Texas Gulf Coast. It was a foggy, misty day. They were several hundred yards off shore, wading through a marshy area. I had to use a telephone lens at 580mm. I think the image resulted in an almost painterly affect.

Mike , I think many will say this is a very soft image but I think the fog, mist and softness really sets the mood. Image is well composed and a very original approach.   Posted: 03/04/2025 12:16:18

Mike I would agree with Tom in this case, the softness of the image create the mood and almost a painterly effect that adds interest.
