Rocky Mountain Hills by Mike Patterson

February 2025 - Rocky Mountain Hills

About the Image(s)

I captured this image a few years ago outside of Ketchum, Idaho. I thought the various shades of grasses and gravel on the hills made an attractive and unusual color pattern.

I used a Canon 7D and 70-300mm lens. The settings were 300mm with an ISO of 100, 1/640 second at f/7.1 Processed in Lightroom.

MIke,

I like your composition and I agree the shades of grasses and gravels create a very artistic pattern. I am not sure if this is because the small size of the image, but to me the image lack sharpness. However, you can consider to make it more artistic by giving it an impressionistic painting effect.

Best wishes

Agree with Michele, what if to crop a bit to be more focus?   Posted: 02/11/2025 18:43:44

Mike , you certainly have an eye for color, shades, contours and patterns. Concerning sharpness I have a feeling this image was taken during the heat of the day and thusly haze. Did haze removal and I think it brought the sharpness up. Very unusual image. Like it!   Posted: 02/14/2025 01:30:21

I like the colors, lines and contours, very interesting. Is this a cell phone photo by any chance?   Posted: 02/14/2025 07:19:01
