Fort Casey lighthouse by Kathryn Engle

July 2024 - Fort Casey lighthouse

About the Image(s)

I thought the light was pretty on the lighthouse at this time. This is at Fort Casey which is on Whitby Island in the state of Washington. Taken with Nikon Z8, 1/100 sec at f/90, ISO 640. Some postprocessing in LR and PS.

Hi Kathryn, Like you, I'm very attracted to the light at this angle and time of day! It really sets off the white lighthouse against the darker woods behind. I'm wondering if the edges were cropped just a bit, if it would emphasize the lighthouse more and give it more of a commanding presence in the image. I tried that with the attached image. But I'm really attracted to the picture and the location and wish I could go there in person.   Posted: 07/10/2024 02:00:22

Hi Kathryn,
I love it. The lighthouse is lit with a subtle orange hour tint. I found this image so serene and peaceful - very relaxing. Nice tonal palette.
Another keeper.
No suggestions - keep on the good work!   Posted: 07/16/2024 16:30:43

I love side light. You shot at the right time from the right angle. I really have no complain. To me. This is an excellent shot with excellent post production. Good job Kathryn.   Posted: 07/27/2024 00:25:49
