About the Image(s)

This series was photographed in Xiapu, Fujian. China. Recreating the artistic conception of oriental freehand ink painting through photographic light and shadow, it extends from realistic tidal flat fishing scenes to abstract visuals, fully depicting the coastal fishing lifestyle.

#1 Veiled by dawn mist , mudflats marked with oracle-bone-like ripples stretch afar. A fisherman rows his boat across the water. Soft light shapes a delicate light-color landscape, embodying serene oriental charm.

#2 Circular shrimp traps scatter across misty tidal flats. Well-arranged vertical stakes and round frames, paired with ample blank space, form an exquisite, ethereal ink wash sketch of wetlands.

#3 Created with zoom motion blur, the fishing cages turn into flowing imagery. Streaks resemble brush strokes, while red nets diffuse like cinnabar ink, elevating ink aesthetics via abstract freehand expression.

Very nice combination and effect of two separate images.
No suggestion for improvement.
This group focus on Landscape, Seascape, and Cityscapes. Your original image would fit this category, but the combination would be better in a Creative category.

HI Fiona, Welcome. You submitted an attractive image, but I don't really know how to comment on it. It seems more like abstract art than a landscape photo. I do like your original photo of the boater in the winding waterway. But, I'm sorry can't make any suggestions about your final image.   Posted: 08/15/2026 00:27:14

Hi Fiona, I quite like your image, combining the two landscape photos. I like your originals too! For me, you might try to saturate the circular shrimp trap image and give it bit more opacity to add more depth and interest to the image. Also maybe not so much blur around the pink shrimp trap. Nice job.   Posted: 08/17/2026 21:34:02
