Not every photograph begins with spectacular light. Sometimes the challenge is to discover order within an ordinary scene. Under the glaring midday sun, the landscape looked flat and unremarkable, so I intentionally underexposed by two stops to recover atmosphere and let the dark clouds become part of the composition. The line of snow stakes immediately caught my attention, naturally leading the eye toward the ridge where people climb before their descent. The pristine snow, untouched except for this subtle path, gave the image a quiet sense of purpose. It was a reminder that photography is often less about what we first see, and more about what we choose to reveal. Your comments and suggestions are most welcome.
