Canon EOS R6 M2. 1/1000 sec at f/6.3, ISO 200. Sigma lens 150-600 mm at 435 mm.
I was on a cruise ship to Alaska in early June this year. Originally, I set my camera expecting to see whales in actions. When all of sudden I saw this dramatic moving cloud above snowy mountain from a distant. I was in doubt between taking pictures or taking video. My instinct was to take series of pictures. This was one of the best frames. This scene was taken from a moving cruise ship by using monopod.
As usual. I am expecting to get our group reviews and critiques. Thank you.

Wow.... Dramatic sky is an understatement. Just beautiful.
My first impression is that you perform a B/W conversion - although you did not mention anything about it! Did you convert?
Nice light and shadows, lines, depth, forest line in the foreground.
I would not change anything!

Wow- that picture really pops with two layers of mountains and two layers of clouds all doing different things. So much to see and feel in the picture- really belongs on a wall. Great shot!! Posted: 07/16/2025 15:01:24
