I asked Geoff to provide us with a bit more details....
Here is his response:
Adding a little more to my pic. We used a helicopter to fly into the Bungle Bungles in Western Australia. I hand held the camera and use 200 ISO. Once landed we found a tour group that took us close to the cave and then walked for about half an hour to get to where I took the pic. A rather special place in a remote part of Australia. The camera that I use is a Nikon d850. I recently purchased it as I drowned the Nikon 810 when I was in a cave and the wave came in knocking me to the ground. I was lucky I could grab the crevice in the rocks saving me from being washed out to sea and ending my life. What we do to get a good picture.   Posted: 03/02/2025 07:54:05

Hi Geoff- The colors in the picture are really spectacular, and the little guy at the bottom of the picture helps you grasp the enormity of the cave. I can see why you would want to go there. My only concern about this as a picture is where the focal point is? Your eye seems to be drawn to the big lighter wall in the more-or-less center of the picture, but it seems like you might have wanted the viewer to focus on something more specific. Maybe the little man in the back could have been in the front to give a focal point, or a big rock or something. Regardless, I'm still awed by the cave.   Posted: 03/05/2025 08:28:50
Thanks for the thoughts Kirk   Posted: 03/05/2025 16:29:39
Hi Geoff,
For me, the focal point is the small pond with the mirror reflections of the cave within it.
The 2 tourists are giving a good idea of the size of this cave.
Sorry about your Nikon 810, but your survival, intact, was far more important! What can we do to get a shot!
Nicely done.

Hi Geoff. Bungle Bungles is one of my dream place for photography in Australia. I wonder if they call this spot as Cathedral Gorge? I like the angel and it's stone texture details. The overall image look a bit too saturated in my monitor. I wonder if this was the real situation or something you can adjust during post process.   Posted: 03/17/2025 01:32:27
Thanks Frans, yes it is Cathederal Gorge and I did not play with the saturation. The colours are much those of the rocks.   Posted: 03/17/2025 09:56:16

The color is amazing. I thought you may have adjusted in post but seeing your comment that was the color is stunning. Worth the trip. Sorry about your camera.   Posted: 03/26/2025 02:16:52
