About the Image(s)
Taken a few weeks ago. This castle is built within a cave mouth in south central Slovenia. It was started in the 13th century. the cave under the castle is the longest show cave where 14 km is discovered so far. There was even a hidden alleyway from the castle, so, if under siege, they still had access to the outside.
I took this with my Nikon Z8, 1/400 sec at f9, at 28mm, ISO 1250.
Processed in PS with some contrast, a little Orton and vignette. The light was nice so it didn't need much. We were also there early, so no other tourists in the way to photobomb the shot.

Hi Kathryn, what a fascinating image! I hadn't heard of this castle before, but looked it up online and found a good bit about its interesting history. It's certainly in a striking location and the photo of the white walls against the dark walls of the cave really "pop". I love the composition with the stone sides, trees and blue sky with clouds- just perfect. It really has a story to tell.

Hi Kathryn, Wow.... Very nice image. By having a broad crop far from the Castle, you allow the viewer to realize the location of this extraordinary building. Thanks for the added story - another location to put on my bucket list.
This is a great image as it is. I do not have any suggestions for improvement.

Great setting Katheryn, like the building set into the rocky background. Lighting well cropped. Great effort.   Posted: 11/17/2024 01:56:44
