About the Image(s)
For this month I wanted to submit another insect photo. While taking photos I tried pursuing a bee to get a good photo. When I reviewed all my photos I found this photo of the bee in flight. I took the photo using my phone. For editing all I did was crop the photo and alter the lighting. The photo is not the best as the bee is very pixelated and blurry.

Bees in flight are always a challenge and especially on a cell phone. The light is good, as it looks like a sunny day yet you captured no harsh shadows.   Posted: 09/06/2023 10:13:54
Good job on catching the bee in flight. The bee is reasonably sharp despite the crop. I would crop more off the bottom to just below the center of the flower to give more emphasis to the bee. After all, the bee is your subject and the flower is secondary.   Posted: 09/07/2023 14:19:28
Jacob,
I think you did a good job in getting this bee in flight in reasonably good focus - it is not easy to catch them in flight. I think including the entire flower is fine since that's an important part of this story. I might place a soft vignette around the perimeter.   Posted: 09/07/2023 20:13:39

Nice submission. It is not easy to get a bee in fight and the targeted flower at the same time and in focus, especially with an iPhone!
Options on cropping: A single image can have several pleasing cropping. I like that the whole flower is seen and that the bee is not too tightly cropped on the top/right.
Alternatively, one can opt for a much tighter crop and sacrifice part of the flower. All a question of taste....   Posted: 09/08/2023 14:20:41
