October 2026 - Cyno Longwings Mating
About the Image(s)
This was taken in the mountain regions of Panama.
Although in the middle of the day, it was totally overcast which created a natural soft box effect.
Sony A7 205mm, ISO 640, f8, 1/320 secs. Manual exposure.
Very little in post apart from cropping and sharpening with Topaz Photo AI.

Nice colors. I've never seen butterflies mating. Very sharp. Posted: 10/05/2026 16:21:38
Mervyn,
Lovely image of this pair of butterflies. The contrast in the wing colors and the white boarders are captivating. Posted: 10/08/2026 16:07:38

An interesting & timely capture. The upper butterfly- I don't know if it's possible but it would be nice to see a sharper/clearer definition of her proboscis & front legs from the background. Posted: 10/10/2026 04:09:57
