Captured at the end of May 2026 at the Iroquois National Wildlife Refuge (in Western New York).
Equipment: OM1 Mark ii, OM 150-400 mm lens, Hand held
Set-up: 400 mm (800 mm full frame equivalent), ISO 800, 1/640, f/7.1, EV 0
Post processing using ON1 PhotoRaw (cropping, light adjustments, slight vignette.

You did good to capture this small bird when it was in glide mode, since the relatively low shutter speed (for birds in flight) probably would have blurred the wings while in motion otherwise. Somehow the green background seems brighter in the edited version. I might tone the background down a bit to be closer to the original.   Posted: 07/06/2026 14:36:51

I do like the contrast of the bird & the background in editing with just a touch of blur on the wingtip. Yes maybe a bit bright on the green.   Posted: 07/08/2026 06:19:13
