I like this one. I especially like the wildflowers in the background complimenting the deer's face coloring. The grass in the foreground looks so much out of focus - was it on a ridge making it much closer? Posted: 11/05/2025 17:22:57

Nice catch! Yes, the flowers were on the edges of a large field and pretty far away from this Roebuck. He was approximately in the middle of this field. Posted: 11/05/2025 20:51:14

As you know the ass-end is usually not the most becoming perspective but this image is redeemed by the look-back of the buck. The antlers have some interesting detail. I might crop in a bit on the left side. Posted: 11/05/2025 19:50:59

I agree with you... rear end shots are not my favorite neither, but I felt that it was acceptable considering all the details of his side and head.
The reason I kept a wide area on the left of the animal is to have his gaze pointing at the middle of the scene - obviously not essential! Posted: 11/05/2025 20:55:19
