About the Image(s)
This blue flower is known as Spiderwort. It grows prolifically in our yard and garden in areas that I don't mow or cultivate. A few days ago I walked outside in the morning and could literally hear all the bees moving from flower to flower among the Spiderwort.
The image was taken with my Sony A7R5 with a close up 100mm lens, 1/1250, f8.0, ISO 3200. Other than the crop, the image was converted from raw with minimal processing.

The detail in this image is stunning. The detail in the stamen of the flower and the light pollen dust makes for a very compelling image. The adjustment of the background lighting to allow us to focus on the subject is a nice touch. I don't think there is anything I would try to adjust.   Posted: 07/08/2025 14:13:12
Dean, you have achieved wonderful detail and sharpness despite the amount that you had to crop. The A7R gives you a large file to be able to do that. And the close up lens also helped.
I think this is one of your best images so far!   Posted: 07/08/2025 18:11:16

Thanks Mervyn.   Posted: 07/09/2025 01:07:24
This definitely has held quality during the crop though to my mind I think the bee lacks a little bit of sharpness compared to the stamen. Having said that I do like the specks of pollen on the bee.   Posted: 07/13/2025 01:21:17

I love the bright colors! Very good capture of the pollen sacks on the bee's legs. The purple flower stems are nice, too! Really like this and it's nice that you didn't have to do much in post.   Posted: 07/24/2025 21:44:49
