About the Image(s)
Another picture from The Masai Mara, Kenya last year.
The herd came very close to our vehicle so I was able to capture this with my 70-200mm lens on my Sony A7III body.
I found it interesting to see how the calf gets its trunk out of the way when nursing.
Sony A7III at 145mm. ISO 2000. f8, 1/800sec Manual mode

A study in nature. A slight vignette would help. Emphasizing the lights and darks will bring out the texture on the elephant.   Posted: 03/02/2025 12:45:52
Mervyn,
Agree with Jaswant; a bit more contrast. I really want to crop in on the baby and I messed around with several different crops but, in the end, I think your bigger view is best.   Posted: 03/04/2025 17:37:28

It is a beautiful and touching scene. The wide crop allows us to see these 2 elephants in their natural environment.
Lovely. I like it like this, but a slight vignette and/or increased contrast are reasonable.
Another keeper!

Mervyn - Love your Africa shots! This is fantastic! Really like it! The vignette did improve it and I would not have thought of doing that.   Posted: 03/10/2025 18:12:19
This is an amazing photo. The lighting and contrast truly bring out the subjects. The colors are amazing and the detail is beautiful. Beautiful photo.   Posted: 03/15/2025 13:40:52
