About the Image(s)

"Orchid in the Wild"

Sony a7iii, 1/800, f/10, iso = 400, 200-600mm lens @ 463mm, handheld

Cropped as seen, noise-reduction in Camera Raw with AI, dehazed, increased vibrance, adjust white/black meter.

Taken this summer in Costa Rica where my camera settings were likely set for birds. I hope my cropping and resizing shows how clear this photo is. I project it on a 27" digital canvas in my kitchen and it's awesome! The wild flowers were so beautiful in this country.

Cindy,
The orchid is lovely and the clarity, vibrant colors, and soft background make for a lovely flower image. I especially like the bit of red contrast inside the flower. The crop obviously was needed and you had sufficient depth of field and resolution to make it work well.   Posted: 01/06/2025 23:49:11

The colors of the orchid are magnificent and congratulations on the perfect bokeh.
I also am enjoying the little bud peeping out on the left.   Posted: 01/08/2025 20:50:44

I do like this shot. I am wondering if there is a way to make the ant "pop"   Posted: 01/11/2025 02:03:19

Thanks! Never even noticed that ant! A better angle might have worked. One of the things I love about photography is seeing things the camera catches that I didn't see live. (And sometimes, not even seeing what all the camera has caught!)   Posted: 01/16/2025 00:54:31

This is a lovely photo and the detail is amazing. I also just noticed the ant. The composition of the photo and the way you treated the background was very well done. Overall it is a great capture.   Posted: 01/16/2025 03:58:07
