Pierre,
The eyes, face, and beak are the center of attention. I might crop in on this area if the resolution is sufficient. And I wish the background has more bokeh but I see your lens was probably at is max. aperture.   Posted: 01/03/2025 01:42:30

Hi Dean,
Thanks for these comments. Yes, I should have shot at f/2.8 instead of 4.5. This bush was fairly far away and did not expect to be so "present".
Oh well, maybe next time!   Posted: 01/04/2025 21:08:01

Could just darken the background a bit more.   Posted: 01/04/2025 21:24:56

Very nice shot. The nature of the background in contrast with the owl, gives it a 3-dimensional feel, almost as if you could reach out and pluck the owl out of the frame. I don't know what it is, but the sharpness all round almost makes it look like a cut-out placed on the perch. I agree with darkening the BG and possibly adding a vignette.   Posted: 01/05/2025 16:43:41

Hi Jaswant. I agree with you. The reason for this is that the background was pretty far away from the perch.   Posted: 01/05/2025 16:55:06

Beautiful image of this owl, and perfectly sharp.
I too would prefer to see the background a little darker yo give more separation from the bird.   Posted: 01/08/2025 20:48:11

I agree with how sharp the owl is - very nice. I would have left a little more background over his head or taken out some of the stump which would have gotten rid of the knot in the stump. I am partial to nice feathers and these are captured so well.   Posted: 01/16/2025 01:03:42

This is an interesting photo. I think it is well done. From a personal style choice I would have tried to darken the stump to make it more distinct but I think that is stylistic. Overall it is a great photo.   Posted: 01/16/2025 03:46:43
