Jaswant,
It is always challenging to catch these small fast flyers in flight and I think just about impossible to get the wings without a bit of blur (without a strobe), which I find acceptable. I would crop down a bit from the top.   Posted: 11/04/2024 00:00:17

I think that the movement in the wings is important in this image to show how fast these birds fly and hover. The background bokeh is great, but I agree with Dean to crop some off the top.   Posted: 11/10/2024 17:23:50

Hi Jaswant,
This is a tough one. Even at 1/2000 sec, the wings and the forked tail are still blurry! As Mervyn mentioned, this is a good demonstration of the flapping frequency of these wings.
I really like the great capture of the light reflecting on the throat and chest of this little fellow.
I agree with the cropping the top left corner.
Very nice image.

This is an amazing photo. I would not have the patience to try and photograph a hummingbird so well done. I think there really isn't much you could change to improve the photo. I do like the larger framing as it conveys to me a sense of motion.   Posted: 11/11/2024 03:55:45

I like this crop. But I wish the tail could be lit a little more for better definition. I think 1/4000 for hummingbirds will capture the movement. I have never seen this species.   Posted: 11/26/2024 14:30:42

Thank you all for the comments and critique. I did crop it a little and it does look a little better. I do have a few more shots of this with a sharper tail. I was pushing the ISOs a bit and did not want to go any higher on the shutter.   Posted: 11/29/2024 12:50:04
