About the Image(s)
A while ago I visited RAPTOR Inc., a non-profit organization dedicated to the conservation of local birds of prey via rehabilitation, education, field research, and community service. Spencer is a male Barred Owl who is blind in the right eye as well as hearing impaired. He has a most expressive face! I was unable to carry a tripod up the hill.
Here I used my Nikon Z 50 camera with a NIKKOR Z DX 50-250 mm f/4.5-6.3 VR lens at 200 mm (1/1,000 sec, f/6, Iso 1,600)

Very sharp throughout and good color. the mouth being open also adds to the expression. Nice capture especially when it was taken at 200 mm.   Posted: 07/10/2024 18:05:39
Hi Alane: A really nice close in portrait of the Barred Owl with a good out of focus natural green background.
From a composition standpoint I like the head turned slightly as you have presented it, instead of straight on.   Posted: 07/17/2024 01:03:55

Hi Alane,
Great portrait of a Barred Owl. Complementary and not competing background. Tack sharp.
A keeper!   Posted: 07/21/2024 15:20:59

A great tack sharp image that not only shows the natural coloration and plumage of the subject, but also relates a bit of it's personality as well. The subject is wonderfully detailed while the background is soft and appealing. Nice Job !   Posted: 07/31/2024 21:21:57
