I got a fascination for dyeing flowers .
This one was taken with a Nikon D200 I.R. converted to full spectrum
Lens Nikon 55mm micro f2.8 @f11 /100 iso lights two Viltrox L116T @ 5600k 45%
Camera clapped to worktop with a fishing rod clap modified.

Hi Norman: The fascinating colors in the flower and the razor sharp details creates a lot of impact against the black background. The flower itself has a lot of interesting details which just add to the interest of this scene.
Technical quality is excellent and the diagonal placement of the flower in the frame was the right choice.
The thin white border adds that finishing touch.

Great image with interesting colors. All tack sharp, good crop.
I also have a converted camera for AstroPhotography (full spectrum). I use an infrared filter to perform thermal images, and without an IR filter for astrophotography.
Without an IR filter, I found that the white balance could be quite difficult when used during the day, sunset, etc....
I like your choice!

An interesting and surreal presentation. Lots of color and light. I do find that I look more to the stem rather than to the bloom in this case. Perhaps due to the stem being so bright. Was this your intent to guide my eye to the stem here ? Posted: 08/16/2026 16:17:58
