About the Image(s)
This photo was taken in my backyard of a Hen & Chickens plant that is very hearty in Central Texas. I never take this plant in during the winter even if the temps drop below freezing. It is a hearty survivor!
The photo was taken in November 2025 with my Nikon D850 camera and my 100m manual Zeiss Milvus lens mounted on a tripod. The settings were f/16, 1/15 sec, ISO 640, natural overcast light and cropped.

What a fun close-up of this selected part of the plant. By just giving us the center structure here you have created an entirely different image than we might see if the whole plant was included, and I like this version. There is a simplicity in this presentation as well. The only suggestion I may have is that you might consider darkening the background structures just a bit. This would allow the main structures to come forward and bit and be a bit more predominant. Note that this edit was rather subtle, but quite effective. I have included a version when this was done to illustrate my thoughts. See what you think ...   Posted: 12/09/2025 21:18:10
Hi Barbara: A very interesting close in picture of this cactus type plant. I like the way you have composed this plant with the leaves on diagonals, much more interesting than the leaves straight across the frame. Another interesting aspect is large leaves, medium size leaves and then smaller leaves in the center.   Posted: 12/10/2025 04:05:10
I love it. Very nice texture, focus, lines, details.
No suggestion for improvement.
Well done.   Posted: 12/10/2025 19:44:53

Great composition and focus, Barbara! I do think that Charlie's subtle edit enhances your lovely image.   Posted: 12/14/2025 03:45:27
