About the Image(s)
On a trip I saw this intricate African Beaded Hat and photographed it. I edited it in Photoshop Elements and Lightroom.
Here I used my NIKON Z 50 camera with a NIKKOR Z DX 50-250mm f/4.5-6.3 VR lens (50 mm, 1/80 sec, f/4.5, ISO 1.100)

Hi Alane,
Very intricate headgear with plenty of details. Perfect light, focus, texture - great. Nicely done.
You chose a fully black background but I am wondering what was the original background. I would imagine this headgear on a wood table with an African landscape background (or a hut) would help to provide a context. (even better would be if it was worn by the owner....).

Hi Alane: I am always intrigued with hand made items from other countries such as this African beaded hat, and can appreciate the time and effort involved in creating these items.
The hat is sharp in detail, the beads show up well. As presented the hat seems to float in space, wish you could have shown it on a real African person or at least on a table of some kind to provide a base for the hat to sit on.   Posted: 05/10/2025 14:30:07
