Hi Pierre: Really nice composition very artistically done.
You have achieved really good sharpness handholding quite a bit of power, I would need to use my tripod.
Your light green out of focus background supports the subject well. If you could somehow blend in that very dark distracting area in the upper right corner it would make a very good image into an excellent image. Of course just my humble opinion.   Posted: 02/09/2025 07:54:28

This is a wonderful image, one of the best I have seen you submit to date. The subjects are cleanly and sharply presented against an interesting but non-competing backdrop. I am really enjoying the detail and presentation of the butterfly / thistle. Nicely done. There does appear to be a gradient of light that extends from the brighter area at the lower left to the darker areas at the upper right (the later having been mentioned previously), and to my eye this detracts from the main subjects some. May I suggest evening out this by lightening the upper right corner a bit and adding a darker vignette on the lower left quadrant some. Doing so would emphasize the subject more and deemphasize the background light gradient some. I have included a version with these changes to illustrate my thoughts. See what you think.   Posted: 02/10/2025 18:30:59

Hi Pierre, Beautiful Image! It is very sharp and detailed. You did a great job. However, I felt the image was a little flat probably due to lighting. Thanks for sharing!   Posted: 02/14/2025 23:25:50
How would you suggest correcting this? Whether in the collection of the shot or in post-processing, or both?   Posted: 02/15/2025 17:19:52
Nice capture with subject's wings extended and thistle sharp also. Was the subject cropped from the original size?   Posted: 02/19/2025 20:08:38
