Don, dancing is active body movement therefore a sort of a sport. She is lying down in a sort of a sexy pose. The stage illumination has a very strong pink-beige hue. I tried to correct it by the auto color and auto tone sliders in Photoshop. It improved some how but not completely to my taste, so using silver Effex I made it into B&W and now the image shows better the rim light and contrast. Hi Don. What a fine choice of subject matter for this month. We often do not submit photos of creative dance/gymnastics/sport. Your photo has been taken with an excellent backdrop of black, curtains and floor. This has pushed the young lady into our viewing.
On a technical note you could have taken the photo at different settings as overexposure has occurred on the young ladies hands, arms and inner thighs. This has happened due to harsh overhead lighting, this can also occur under outside lighting with summer sun. Reduce the ISO back to 2000-3000 but retain same shutter and aperture. This will give you a blackish original if taken in RAW just use the adjustment brush to sweep over the subject this will bring out definition in those body parts overexposed. I have had this problem for many years in taking photos in harsh lighting conditions often my camera is left always at 2/3 underexposed. It is more of a problem photographing women rather than men, my opinion is that male body hair absorbs some of suns light so problem of overexposure not as severe. If you go back to my April 2024 photo in this group this is what I did about 2 and 2/3 underexposed on the batsman.   Posted: 07/16/2024 08:16:29

Don as the others have said, It is nice to see a different version of what we normally see here. I was a PE teacher for many years and taught both gymnastics and creative movement. I do not think I like the Black and white version as much. Bruce   Posted: 07/26/2024 01:59:32

I didn't see any need to include the front of the stage or riser, so I cropped it out. I also tried to tone down the highlights a bit.   Posted: 07/30/2024 03:44:12
